Real Worship

I have been visiting the temple early morning in the colony I reside ever since I started going to school. Following my daily routine, I listen to the traditional aarti(worship) sung by the head priest and get a blessing from him. Going to memory lane; I remember my mother telling me : “Pandit ji(Priest) is a divine figure; he is a noble being and has a connection with God. Never start your day without his sacred blessings…”

But what I saw today, changed my perspective completely… While coming back from the school, I saw Pandit ji(Priest) shooing away a few puppies from the temple’s gate by threatening them using stones!

Lost in thoughts, I returned back home. Sitting beside my window, I noticed a cobbler mending a pair of shoes, suddenly, the same puppies I had seen in front of the temple came running towards him and started licking his feet. Instead of shooing them away, he patted their heads out of love. After getting done with his work; he took out some pieces of bread from his bag and fed the puppies…

The whole incident has put me in a great dilemma… who really has a connection with God…

Pandit ji(Priest) or cobbler?????…

Who really has  a noble spirit…

Pandit ji(Priest) or cobbler?????…

Who did the real worship…

Pandit ji(Priest) or cobbler?????…
